Is Summer Over Yet?

In the Spring of 2021, we had a solid script, a pitch deck, and a list of producers we admired. We sought out to find our producing team that would lead us into the unchartered waters of funding a feature film. We met a lot of wonderfully talented, smart, and ambitious producers. In May of 2021, we landed on Kay Tuxford (The Miseducation of Bindu) and Alexandra Renzo (Selah and the Spades). We were impressed by their experience, creative ideas, and, most importantly, their love and understanding of our story.

This past summer we accomplished forming an LLC, getting our website and Instagram set up, copyrighting our script, brainstorming an operation agreement, brainstorming our dream cast, and brainstorming fundraising ideas. Whew! It was a lot but we did it!

And now our team is gearing up to deliver a new draft with the notes from our producers and they are finalizing a business plan and a distribution plan for us.

Our train is picking up some steam and it’s nice to look back and see all that we accomplished as a group of amazing women. We keep each other accountable, collaborate well together, and have been all playing to our different strengths.

We all feel good about moving forward to the next steps and we look forwarded to sharing our journey and our story.
